jacksum software package provides computes checksums, CRCs and message digests, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install jacksum
jacksum is installed in your system.
Make ensure the jacksum package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep jacksum *
You will get with jacksum package name, version, architecture and description in a table
